The house
A beachfront estate on just over an acre of tropical garden on the coast at Canggu, facing straight out to the Indian Ocean surf. The break in front of the house suits surfers of most levels, a better-known one is a short walk along the sand, and Canggu's restaurants, cafés and beach clubs are within walking distance; horses can be hired nearby for rides along the beach at sunset.
The estate was designed by two of Bali's best-known architects as a group of pavilions under steep Balinese roofs: an open-air living pavilion, a dining pavilion, a two-person massage pavilion and five air-conditioned bedrooms with their own bathrooms, most with baths. An antique carved rice barn at the sea edge makes a private place to watch the sunset. A 17-metre infinity pool runs along the lawn above the beach, with a heated jacuzzi for eight, and there is an entertainment room with a small library of books, films and games.
The house is fully staffed by a manager, cooks, a butler, housekeepers, gardeners, maintenance staff and security guards, who cook and serve meals in the dining pavilion or on the terrace and arrange surfing, massages and trips inland.
