The Chamonix Forest Lodge

The house

A lodge of stone and warm timber set among pines on the edge of Chamonix, with its own garden and the high peaks of the massif rising behind. A small annex in the grounds takes extra guests, so the house suits a family with friends or two generations travelling together.

The main living room has a vaulted timber ceiling, a stone wall, big windows onto the trees and a double-sided fire that also warms the dining room. There is a modern kitchen, a study, a cinema room, a gym and a 4 x 8 metre indoor pool with a counter-current jet beside a sauna. Outside are a fire pit and a private rock-climbing wall. Six bedrooms in the main house, all with their own bathrooms and one with an extra four-bed dormitory, are joined by three smaller rooms in the annex; a lift and a large boot room with boot and jacket warmers complete it.

Two private chefs, a host and housekeepers run the lodge, and a driver is on call in Chamonix. Breakfast, afternoon tea, canapés and dinner on six nights are served, with an open bar, and Geneva airport transfers are included.

In the house for the whole stay. Drivers, childcare and security are arranged on request.
