About La Datcha
A 77-metre SeaXplorer from Damen Yachting, launched in 2020 with an ice-class hull and built to run for around forty days without calling at port. She takes twelve guests in six cabins, with the owner's suite and three convertible cabins on the main deck and a second master suite and VIP on the upper deck, all linked by a glass lift.
She is fitted out as much for the expedition as for the evenings. There is a dive centre, a three-person Triton submarine, hangars and helidecks for two helicopters, a ski room with avalanche kit and a mud room by the aft deck. Inside are a sauna and steam room, a gym, a massage room, a sundeck Jacuzzi and a formal dining room with a bar on the upper deck.
Her winters are spent in Antarctica, where the landing craft and Zodiacs carry guests ashore; between polar seasons she cruises Central America and the Windward Islands, and she has also worked Greenland and Scotland. The tender fleet includes a limousine tender, a dive boat and a beach lander, alongside jet skis, Seabobs, windsurfers, kites and kayaks, with a crew of 25.
