About Yersin
A 77-metre expedition yacht built in France by Piriou and launched in 2015, with an ice-class hull, diesel-electric propulsion and CLEANSHIP environmental certification. She sleeps up to eighteen guests in eight cabins: the master suite forward on the upper deck with its own office and lounge, a VIP stateroom behind it, and six further doubles and twins, all but the master with an extra bed.
The yacht carries the facilities of a small research ship alongside those of a private one: a laboratory, a medical studio, an observatory and a cinema, a library and media room off the main saloon, two dining rooms and a lower-deck spa with an indoor Jacuzzi, hammam, massage room, gym and hair salon. On the sundeck a raised Jacuzzi sits among sunbeds and a covered bar.
With a range of around 15,000 nautical miles at twelve knots she is listed for Greenland, Norway and the wider high Arctic. The boat deck holds a cabin tender, two landing craft-style RIBs for beach landings in ice, a Munson landing craft and a dive centre with cold-water kit for ten, plus kayaks and paddleboards. Twenty-one crew.
